Rick Jackson Beats Burt Jones and Trump, Sets Up Battle With Keisha Lance Bottoms In November.
Well, Rick Jackson's reported $100 million spent on the Georgia Primary has won him the prize of being the GOP representative in the November Race for Governor of Georgia.
GOP Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, backed by both President Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, is projected to lose the Republican runoff for Georgia governor to healthcare executive and billionaire Rick Jackson,
Jackson will now face Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) in the general election, which the nonpartisan election handicapper Cook Political Report considers a “toss up.”
Burt Jones was long seen as the frontrunner in the GOP race after he received an early endorsement from the president. A long-time ally of the president, Jones previously served as the Georgia co-chair for Trump’s first presidential campaign and signed Electoral College documents falsely claiming Trump beat former President Biden in the 2020 election.
Jackson’s entry into the primary to succeed term-limited Kemp earlier this year quickly shook up the key race, which was seen as a three-way contest between Jones, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr (R) and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R).
Rick Jackson then flooded TV and Internet with commercials, some up to seven times an hour. Jackson's staff had stories about his background shown show much that my Mom remembers many of them almost by heart and she's not a Republican.
Now the question here is did Jackson empty the clip and comes in with less money than needed to take on Keisha Lance Bottoms In November? The only message he has about her is that she quit the Atlanta Mayor job. By contrast, the stories about his past are only now being written. Will Jackson win with money again or be tackled by Keisha Lance Bottoms in an October surprise news reveal?
Stay tuned.
