Loop Capital's Jim Reynolds Talks Oakland Coliseum Deal But Many Don't Know He's A Friend Of Obama - ATLNews
Loop Capital's Jim Reynolds Talks Oakland Coliseum Deal But Many Don't Know He's A Friend Of Obama Loop Capital (called that because of its headquarters in Downtown Chicago, which is called "The Chicago Loop" after the famed elevated transit railroad. But Loop Capital's Founder Jim Reynolds was not in Oakland to talk about Chicago, he was being interviewed by the San Francisco Business Times about the Oakland Coliseum Deal done with Ray Bobbitt, the Founder of The African American Sports and Entertainment Group. Here's some highlights from the interview with SFBT Reporter Hannah Kanik. Story Highlights Loop Capital CEO Jim Reynolds says his group will turn Coliseum site into "a transformative project for Oakland." The Oakland Acquisition Company plans 6,500 to 7,000 housing units with 25% affordable housing. Entertainment, hotel and retail development also planned, and "we're going to do a sports team," Reynolds said. Jim Reynolds said of the $7 trillion in deals his firm has worked on, the Oakland Coliseum property has been the most complicated transaction by far — but he's confident that it's nearing the finish line. Reynolds' firm, Chicago-based Loop Capital, is bringing the core financing for the acquisition and eventual development of the Coliseum property, working with the Oakland-based African American Sports Entertainment Group, helmed by Ray Bobbitt. Together, the group calls itself the Oakland Acquisition Company, and Reynolds believes it has the ability and funding to reimagine the former home of the A's and Raiders. “This is truly going to be a transformative project for Oakland. I'm committed to that,” Reynolds said. “The whole Oakland Acquisition Company is committed to making sure that the citizens of Oakland participate in everything here.” The group wants to redevelop the property into a "city within the city" that can revitalize East Oakland with entertainment, housing and retail. After five years, and five different mayors, the group reached a new, revised agreement with the city to buy its half of the complex, which Reynolds called a key milestone in the process that he’s confident will be followed by a deal with the county by the end of the year. Whenever you do a major real estate development like this, particularly where it's a multibillion-dollar development and a multi-phasing development, you try to minimize the risk as best that you can because you're going to be over a long period of time. It is very common for multiphase developments like this to pay for the structures as you develop them. What’s the vision for the site? What are you hoping to build? The first phase is going to be a significant amount of development around the arena. We're fortunate enough to have the No. 1 venue creator in the world partnering with us here in Oakland, and the city and county is very excited about [Oak View Group] coming in with Live Nation And we're going to do a sports team. That's one thing they've asked about. We'll replace that Coliseum with something more suitable. We're assuming we're not going to get another professional team, not a professional baseball or football or basketball, but something that's more suitable in a smaller facility, like soccer. Cricket's popular out here. So it's going to be a mecca for folks to come. Do you have a number of housing units you’re planning on building at this point? I think we have somewhere around 6,500 to 7,000 units. We’ll be able to have a solid mixture of types of housing there. Where are you at in the process today? Well, there's several moving pieces. You know, we've signed our definitive agreement with the city. We now are moving towards getting a definitive agreement with the county. We have to bring these together to actually close the whole deal. We want to try to get there by the end of the year. That's the goal. We're going to be engaging in discussions with the county now. They've given us every indication that once we have the agreement in place with the city, the terms should largely be similar. So it's our expectation that it should move expeditiously. 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up? Check out StreamYard and get $10 discount! 😍 https://ift.tt/B4C2w6O

Think Tyler Perry Walked Off Good Morning America Michael Strahan Interview? Think Again & Check - ATLNews
Think Tyler Perry Walked Off Good Morning America Michael Strahan Interview? Think Again & Check Google Did Tyler Perry really walk off the set of Good Morning America during a heated interview with Michael Strahan? If you have been scrolling through YouTube, TikTok, or Facebook lately, you might have seen dozens of videos claiming exactly that. But before you believe the rumors, think again—and check Google! In this video, Zennie Abraham, CEO of Zennie62 Media, dives deep into this viral rumor to uncover the actual truth. After seeing countless clickbait videos with the exact same repetitive titles and no real information, Zennie decided to do some investigating. What did he find? It’s completely fake! There is absolutely no official news record, transcript, or broadcast footage of Tyler Perry getting into an argument with Michael Strahan or walking out of an interview. The viral videos you are seeing are completely fabricated, utilizing AI-generated text-to-speech scripts, highly misleading clickbait titles, and totally unrelated, spliced-together older interview footage just to farm views. In reality, all past appearances by Tyler Perry on GMA with anchors like Michael Strahan have been entirely cordial and routine. We noticed the same exact false narrative being spread by multiple obscure channels—such as Staratch Daily, The Empire Times, and The Fans Blog. We are currently facing a massive problem with fake celebrity news and AI clickbait content designed to play with your emotions. When people post fake video after fake video across different channels, it is easy to make fiction look like absolute truth. That is exactly why this video was made—someone had to finally set the record straight! Help stop the spread of fake news by liking, sharing, and subscribing to Zennie62 on YouTube! Share this video with your friends and family so they know the real story. 6 MINUTES AGO: Vera Rubin’s First Images JUST STOPPED THE WORLD! - ATLNews
6 MINUTES AGO: Vera Rubin’s First Images JUST STOPPED THE WORLD! The Vera Rubin Observatory has already discovered objects that scientists never expected to find. What if the most revolutionary telescope in history isn't looking deeper into space—but watching the universe change in real time? In this video, we explore the astonishing first discoveries from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, including a 163,000-light-year stellar stream, an impossibly fast-spinning asteroid (2025 MN45), millions of newly detected celestial objects, and why astronomers believe Rubin is about to transform astronomy forever. Unlike Hubble or the James Webb Space Telescope, Vera Rubin repeatedly scans the entire southern sky every few nights, creating a living timeline of the cosmos. That unique capability has already revealed hidden galactic structures, strange asteroid behavior, and a flood of discoveries that previous generations of telescopes completely missed. You'll learn how Rubin's Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) works, why it generates millions of alerts every night, what makes asteroid 2025 MN45 seemingly impossible according to current physics, and how the observatory is expected to map nearly 20 billion galaxies during its decade-long mission. Every image is adding new pieces to one of the biggest scientific puzzles of our time. Could these discoveries change our understanding of dark matter, galaxy formation, planetary evolution, and even the future of our Solar System? The first images suggest we may only be witnessing the beginning. If you enjoy videos about space discoveries, James Webb Telescope, Vera Rubin Observatory, black holes, galaxies, exoplanets, NASA missions, cosmology, and the mysteries of the universe, you're in the right place. If you enjoyed this video, Like, Subscribe, and turn on notifications because the next Vera Rubin discoveries may completely rewrite what we know about the universe. #verarubin #verano #lsst #space #astronomy #universe #jameswebb #nasa #darkmatter #asteroids #galaxies #cosmology #science #spacediscovery #rubinadilaik

Tae Millhouse & Oakland CM Rowena Brown: They Were More Than Acquaintances And In Oakland Politics
Tae Millhouse & Oakland CM Rowena Brown: They Were More Than Acquaintances And In Oakland Politics
Tae Millhouse & Oakland CM Rowena Brown: They Were More Than Acquaintances And In Oakland Politics Oakland At-Large City Councilmember Rowena Brown was violently assaulted and robbed inside her own apartment in the early hours of July 19, 2026. The suspect, 38-year-old Ahshatae "Tae" Millhouse, was arrested in Livermore shortly after and now faces serious felony charges, including first-degree residential robbery, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and false imprisonment. But while the official press statements and mainstream news outlets were quick to label Millhouse a mere "acquaintance" down on her luck, a closer look at their history reveals a much deeper, politically intertwined relationship spanning several years. The Crime: A Brutal Early-Morning Assault According to court documents, the attack was severe. Millhouse was in Brown's apartment during the early morning hours when Brown reportedly asked her to leave due to "escalating behavior". As Millhouse headed for the door, she allegedly turned on the Councilmember—punching Brown twice and knocking her to the ground. The violence didn't stop there. Millhouse allegedly dragged Brown into the living room by her hair, drove a knee into her neck, and strangled her with both hands. Brown narrowly managed to escape her own apartment. Millhouse then reportedly fled the scene, stealing Brown's purse and two cell phones. The "Acquaintance" Spin In the aftermath, Brown's office released a statement claiming Millhouse was simply an "acquaintance" whom the Councilmember was helping through a difficult time. (Millhouse's brother, Terrill, was tragically shot and killed in East Oakland in November 2025). Major news outlets parroted this narrative, painting a picture of a benevolent politician attacked by a struggling constituent she barely knew. But the paper trail tells a completely different story. They were firmly entrenched in the same Oakland political circles, and their roots run deep. The common denominator between the two women is former Oakland District Six Councilmember Loren Taylor. Between January 2019 and January 2023, Brown worked as a constituent liaison and staffer for Taylor. It was during this tenure that Brown and Millhouse first crossed paths. Photographic evidence places both women in the same orbit, with pictures of them alongside Taylor dating back to 2023—well before Brown even launched her own run for office. Social media posts further prove that by August 2024, Millhouse—who runs a music therapy and mental health nonprofit—was actively campaigning for Brown. The relationship only grew stronger from there. Just months before the attack, in February 2026, Councilmember Brown officially appointed Millhouse to the city's Cannabis Regulatory Commission. You don't hand out powerful city board appointments to passing "acquaintances." Was It a Violent Lovers' Spat? The brutal nature of the crime, combined with the timeline of events, raises serious questions that the media is glossing over. Why was Millhouse in Brown's apartment in the early hours of the morning? What was the true nature of the "escalating behavior" that prompted Brown to kick her out? When a late-night apartment visit between two deeply connected political allies ends in hair-dragging, strangulation, and stolen phones, it prompts obvious speculation: Was this an extortion attempt, a political disagreement, or a violent lovers' spat that spiraled out of control? As Millhouse sits in Santa Rita Jail on $125,000 bail, the public deserves the full truth about the company Oakland's leadership keeps—and what really happened behind closed doors on July 19. Tune in to the livestream as we break down the court documents, trace the political connections back to Loren Taylor's office, and ask the questions the mainstream media won't touch 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up? Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence Panel San Diego Comic-Con 2026 July 24 Room 6A
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence Panel San Diego Comic-Con 2026 July 24 Room 6A After more than four decades, the cult horror-comedy franchise born in San Diego is coming home. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, the fifth installment in the series, was largely produced and filmed in San Diego and premieres in select theaters this August, opening wide and available on VOD in September. The franchise holds its San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel on July 24, in the city where it all began. Since the original Attack of the Killer Tomatoes debuted in 1978, the series has spawned a Saturday morning cartoon, a Nintendo game, an early-career role for George Clooney, and four decades of devoted fans. The SDCC panel takes place on Friday, July 24 at 7:15 in the San Diego Convention Center’s Room 6A and will feature moderator and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence’s” producer Michael Polis (Yo Gabba Gabba!), director David Ferino, Killer Tomatoes original creator Costa Dillon, cast members Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Zachary Roozen (Romeo and Juliet Killers), Samantha Bailey (Just Add Magic), and Noor Razooky (The Old Man). The panel will discuss the making of the new film and include the world debut of the official trailer, exclusive footage, an audience Q&A, and a special appearance by Norman the Killer Tomato. In addition to the panel, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence” will be part of the Atomic Toybox Booth, number 3917 on the main floor at the San Diego Convention Center. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes merch will be available including posters, tomato plushies, clothing, skateboards and more. In "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence," a young biotech prodigy develops a revolutionary genetically engineered vegetable designed to solve humanity's problems. But when the experiment spirals out of control, it unleashes a new generation of killer tomatoes, setting the stage for another outrageous chapter in the long-running cult franchise. The cast also includes comedy legend David Koechner ("Anchorman"), Eric Roberts ("The Dark Knight"), Catherine Corcoran ("Terrifier"), and franchise icon John Astin ("The Addams Family"), who returns as Professor Gangreen decades after first appearing in the series. "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes started in San Diego in 1978, and now it’s coming home," notes Steve Peace, who co-wrote and produced the original 1978 film. "We made this one in the city that created it, and there’s no better stage for its return than the biggest pop culture weekend of the year." The panel is open to Comic-Con badge holders.
