Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence Panel San Diego Comic-Con 2026 July 24 Room 6A After more than four decades, the cult horror-comedy franchise born in San Diego is coming home. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, the fifth installment in the series, was largely produced and filmed in San Diego and premieres in select theaters this August, opening wide and available on VOD in September. The franchise holds its San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel on July 24, in the city where it all began. Since the original Attack of the Killer Tomatoes debuted in 1978, the series has spawned a Saturday morning cartoon, a Nintendo game, an early-career role for George Clooney, and four decades of devoted fans. The SDCC panel takes place on Friday, July 24 at 7:15 in the San Diego Convention Center’s Room 6A and will feature moderator and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence’s” producer Michael Polis (Yo Gabba Gabba!), director David Ferino, Killer Tomatoes original creator Costa Dillon, cast members Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Zachary Roozen (Romeo and Juliet Killers), Samantha Bailey (Just Add Magic), and Noor Razooky (The Old Man). The panel will discuss the making of the new film and include the world debut of the official trailer, exclusive footage, an audience Q&A, and a special appearance by Norman the Killer Tomato. In addition to the panel, "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence” will be part of the Atomic Toybox Booth, number 3917 on the main floor at the San Diego Convention Center. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes merch will be available including posters, tomato plushies, clothing, skateboards and more. In "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence," a young biotech prodigy develops a revolutionary genetically engineered vegetable designed to solve humanity's problems. But when the experiment spirals out of control, it unleashes a new generation of killer tomatoes, setting the stage for another outrageous chapter in the long-running cult franchise. The cast also includes comedy legend David Koechner ("Anchorman"), Eric Roberts ("The Dark Knight"), Catherine Corcoran ("Terrifier"), and franchise icon John Astin ("The Addams Family"), who returns as Professor Gangreen decades after first appearing in the series. "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes started in San Diego in 1978, and now it’s coming home," notes Steve Peace, who co-wrote and produced the original 1978 film. "We made this one in the city that created it, and there’s no better stage for its return than the biggest pop culture weekend of the year." The panel is open to Comic-Con badge holders.

Happy Birthday America 250! Thoughts On Blacks In America On July 4th 2026 By Zennie Abraham What prompted this video is a scene I video-blogged at the end of the 2008 Democratic National Convention. It was after Senator Barack Obama was sworn in as the Democratic Nominee for President of The United States before a crowd of 75,000 at Invesco Field in Denver . I was a credentialed blogger and one of the first 128 bloggers (regardless of color) ever invited to cover a DNC Convention. Right after Senator Barack Obama was sworn in as the Democratic Nominee for President of The United States and he gave his speech, fireworks and music started and spontaneously people were flying our flag. The American Flag. But what I noticed was that those people were all black men - here and there around the stadium. It was a stunning and joyrful development. It means that we finally felt that we were 100 percent part of America. That's one main reason I hate looking back, The past was not the best for us as a people, but the present is and its only getting better. We're free to marry interracially and free to be well-educated and now in the third generation of the emergence of a large black professional class. There's so much to be proud of, even of those of us who elect to join another part other than my Democratic Party of which I will never leave. For years I had a hard time with the idea of celebrating Juneteenth, the day that slaves in Galveston learned they were already free. See, to me, Slavery was a sign that we were conqured by evil bad people who were white. The lesson for me was to avoid that happening and be the best and force society via the grace and of God to be better. But now I understand the need to, as they say "never forget" but I think we do too much looking back and not enough giving thanks for now. Not enough celebrating each other, regardless of our differences. Black America is America. Just ask Asian America is America. And Latino, Jewish, and European America is America. We need to celebrate that and take time to help each other. Too often today, the one person standing in a black person's path to success or even life itself is someone else black. Oakland San Leandro, East Bay Politicos Say Steven Tavarez Gets Paid To Write Crap About People When Now-Former Oakland Councilmember Bryan Azevedo was running for re-election, one of his campaign operatives told me personally that it was widely known that San Leardro Blogger Steven Tavarez was hired to put out negative information about him. That was not new news to me or to anyone in San Leandro Politics. For several years, politician after elected official, after political aide has told me the so-called "East Bay Citizen" Steven Tavarez , and I quote, "Is paid to put out crap about people". In other words, negative opinions. I guess it's a slow news day for Mr. Tavarez because he decided to write a totally mindless take that makes me think he's either drinking too much or high, or suffering some brain-slowing illness that he needs to get help for, and we need to pray for his recovery from. Steven wrote that "Abraham falsely claimed I was known to accept money in exchange for favorable news coverage." First, the sentence structure is terrible. I did not falsely claim that he was known to write crap about people, I said that, and because, as I stated, it's true. What's even funnier is Steven - who I have lost complete respect for after he made fun of me being caregiver for my Mother on a podcast with former Oakland Mayoral Candidate and Councilmember Loren Taylor (and where Taylor called and texted to apologize but to this day Steven has done nothing ) even though I gave him a complementary set of videos while at the Coliseum JPA meeting (and for no charge) that are at Zennie62 YouTube for you to see right now - forgets that his website has a big ass "Subscribe" button on it. That immediately implies that Steven gets paid to do what? To write crap about people. It never ceases to amaze me how simple logic escapes Steven Tavarez. Anyone who thinks logically would realize that the only way to avoid the appearance of not getting paid to write something is to not have a dang "Subscribe" button on their blog. But Steven Tavarez is so busy thinking of crappy stuff to say about people, like me, he just plain loses sight of the image his own platform communicates. It says "pay me to put crap out about people that winds up on Google News." Which I thought was a not-allowed and non-journalistic use of Google News, but then that's another reason why I say people in media who spend time trying to give out titles that make them think they''re holier than thou , always show how they do not deserve the lofty platform they give themselves. Again, for most of the time Steven is someone I have wanted to like. At his best, he's a funny guy who's good with story-telling and fun to talk with. But he's got this quirk that causes him to burn-bridges with the wrong people. I am one of those wrong people. I have come around to a path of forgiveness, but again, he brought up my Mother, so when I think about that, the walkway to complete forgiveness is much longer. On top of that, Steven Tavarez darkens my photo to emphasize that I am black, which is racist. It's considered an editing choice meant to diminish the subject. I hope Steven realizes that the lives of people mean something. That Zennie62Media, Inc. does not get paid to put out crap about people, but we are paid to watch and fix the reputations of people. Everyone has a right to their story and the idea that a person has the right story because they call themselves journalists is one that disappeared 20 years ago. Some people just do not get the 21st Century. Steven Tavarez is one of them in my opinion. Neither does his friend Former San Leandro Councilmember Corina Lopez, who threatened to sue Zennie62Media for correctly pointing out her actions on the infamous San Leandro Library video that features her pushing two people at once in an effort to do her own version peace-making. Moreover, Lopez and Tavarez use the same video as if no one else can watch it. I changed that and made it visible to everyone.
