Harold Duffey Oakland ACAs Idea Of Suing Activist Seneca Scott For Defamation WIll Fail Here's Why Oakland Assistant City Administrator Harold Duffy recently lost a temporary restraining order lawsuit he filed against Oakland Activist Seneca Scott. The court case came after Seneca made several vlogs outlining the various alleged errors in judgment that Mr. Duffy had made over a period of time, and I will not shed light on here for reasons I will explain. But the bottom line message here is that Oakland Assistant City Administrator Harold Duffy, as well as others who have filed temporary restraining order lawsuits against Seneca, do not understand their role as public officials and public figures. Now, in the interest of transparency, I will explain that I was originally going to help Seneca in his video-blog reporting. We had a meeting about it, I agreed, but then my entire schedule was upended by the illness of my godmother Barbara Schaaf, from which she eventually left us for Heaven. When I went to resume working on Mr. Duffy, I just did not have the stomach to do something that I was asked to do in 2022. The reason was I believed the people who wanted complaints issued about him should come on my show and explain their case. That was not happening, so in the space of one-half-hour, I elected to just get on with work more in line with Zennie62Media;s corporate mission. I do not believe Oakland is well-served by such an approach, as much as I support Seneca's right to do it. He has a right to be very angry over the conditions of Oakland, as well as the government's seeming lack of will to do anything meaningful about it. Indeed, the Oakland Report producers announced that they just do not have it in them to contnue their great work because they believe the City Government just does not care to do better, let alone talk to them. But the frustration has to be held in check. Especially for those who are media personalities. Seneca said that others would not take on the matter of Mr Duffy out of a fear of being sued. Again, that was not my case. I believe one has to measure the extent of emotional damage that could be caused and if the needle moves toward a place of considering a lawsuit, the media personality has to be aware of what other actions could happen. I have received death threats in the recent past and years ago. They are not fun. I call the police immediately and they respond quickly. But I have my family to protect, and so that's a large consideration. And now, we have the sad image of what happened to political influencer Charlie Kirk. We can say it should not have happened, but it did. So, for me, my godmother's illness, my duty to my 90-year-old and soon to be 91-year-old mother, my desire to have a company that defends the reputation of well-meaning people and firms, and my belief that there's a family of people in Oakland and America that binds us, and other reasons, made me back away. But one view I hold is that Harold Duffey Oakland ACAs should seek an audience with Seneca on his show. Talk with him. Too many people in Oakland Government of late are too sensitive and do not seek to explain their case. They have a public duty to do so, They're public figures. That means people, including Seneca, can say what they want to say about them as long as no harm is communicated as an objective. That's the heart of my message. The rest is in this vlog.
