Oakland Homeless Woman Steals Charlene Wang City Council Candidate 2024 Campaign Donations Oakland city council candidate for 2024 Charlene Wang was the victim of a homeless woman who came to Wang's campaign kickoff and took her bag of checks from donors and then (once learning what they were) refused to give the bag back. She even threatened to shoot the campaign staff trying to talk with her. Wang called 911 but the Oakland Police never showed up. It was an example of Oakland government failure on all levels from service for homeless to police response.
