Oscarville: The City Under Lake Lanier - ATLNews
Join Gwinnett County Public Library as we chronicle a part of Georgia history - the story of Oscarville, Georgia where 1,100 black people once thrived. We discuss their amazing resilience in securing land, livelihoods, and financial success only 47 years out of slavery; and recount the tragedy of the racial expulsion of 1912 that displaced them, caused great loss, and the eventual emergence of Lake Lanier.
