Howard Terminal: Livestream On Oakland City Council Consideration Of Call For Public Vote
Howard Terminal: Livestream On Oakland City Council Consideration Of Call For Public Vote. Will the Oakland City Council vote for this and trigger the A's departure to Las Vegas? The Agenda item reads: Subject: Proposed Ballot Measure On Public Spending On Oakland A’s Project At Howard Terminal From: Councilmember Gallo Recommendation: Adopt A Resolution On The City Council’s Own Motion Submitting To The Voters At The November 8, 2022, General Municipal Election An Advisory Measure On Spending Public Funds For Infrastructure And Other Costs Related To The Development Of The Oakland Athletics’ Proposed Baseball Stadium And Real Estate Project At The Howard Terminal The attached legislation is here: https://ift.tt/gPJfrKk The attached legislation proves that the City of Oakland does not understand Howard Terminal. The "Cost Benefit Analysis Of Financial Issues" is slanted. It calls for the sale of City Bonds when City Bonds are not called for. It has a large set of assumptions that were advanced months ago, and never jettisoned. For example, it mentions on-site infrastructure but fails to add that EIDF law allows for TIF revenue to be used for projects of community-wide significance. Thus, each Councilmember should have a list of such projects for their district, but do not. With all of that, and more, the City Council is still going to take up this bad idea and chase the A's to Las Vegas if they approve it at 3 PM today. - when the City Council Meeting Starts. Stay tuned.
