Enjoy. -------------------- On July 29, 2021, at approximately 1440 hours, CHP Airplane - Air-31 was over the city of Oakland when the @Oakland Police Department broadcasted a call of a large crowd gathering in the area of 90th and Holly St. As A-31 arrived overhead, several parties left the area in their vehicles, driving in an extremely reckless manner. In one vehicle, several unseatbelted passengers were observed hanging out of the sunroof and windows. The vehicles were swerving all over the roadway, driving on the wrong side of the road, failed to stop at posted stop signs and traffic signals, blocked intersections, and appeared to intentionally nearly collide with several vehicles. Air-31 advised the Oakland Police Department as several additional vehicles joined in on the reckless driving. Oakland Police Department's helicopter (ARGUS) responded to the area and provided Oakland Police ground units with updated locations and driving violations. All vehicles eventually stopped in the parking lot on the corner of Foothill Blvd and MacArthur Blvd, where several Oakland Police units contacted the parties and ultimately impounded the involved vehicles. The city of Oakland Police Department will be handling this investigation.
