To John McWhorter - Talking White While Black Is Borne Of American Racism On Facebook, John McWhorter, the famed linguist and friend, posted an idea that it may be better for a black person to switch back and forth from "slang" to "white" - as if the former was our natural language. It's not. The reality that there are many types of blacks people speaking many types of ways, from African to French. Trying to basically be someone else to appease others is a crazy making waste of time. I am the same way to everyone. If you think that is talking white, it's not my problem.
