The current Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport is the focus of a development project that will expand it, and bring in commercial airline service aviation-related businesses as well.
The finished airport product will be called Silver Comet Field. In fact, the airport has already been renamed Silver Comet Field.
Brett Smith, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Propeller Investments, the company developing Silver Comet Field, said "With pro-business county leaders committed to economic development and growth, a new terminal that will be ready for commercial service this year, and 60 acres of adjacent land that can be developed to create jobs for the area, this a great opportunity for Propeller and Paulding County. Furthermore, this partnership brings choice and convenience for metro Atlanta travelers."
Silver Comet Field To Offer Alternative To Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
Silver Comet Field is a much-needed second commercial airport for the Atlanta Metro area. Hartsfield-Jackson is already plagued by frequent delays due to overcrowding and weather.
The distance between the two airports, about a two-hour-drive, is such that Silver Comet Field could provide a great option for aircraft to land, if rerouting due to weather conditions is necessary.
