Loren Taylor Poll In Oakland Mayoral Election Reports Barbara Lee 45 % Loren Taylor 41% As Of 3/22

Loren Taylor Poll ALERT! Loren Taylor Poll ALERT! Loren Taylor Poll In Oakland Mayoral Election Reports Barbara Lee 45 % Loren Taylor 41% As Of 3/22 Oakland (Special to ZennieReport.com) - Following the only Oakland Mayoral debate, hosted by KTVU, the latest poll commissioned by Loren Taylor's campaign reveals a statistical tie between Loren Taylor and Barbara Lee. The March poll, conducted March 17-18 among 854 likely voters, shows Barbara Lee at 45%, and Taylor at 41% in first place votes, which puts the race within the margin of error of ±3.35%. Currently, 14% of voters are either Undecided (9%), or voting Someone Else (5%). In January, Lee held 56% and Taylor held 23% of the vote due to her long-standing presence in Oakland politics and near-universal name recognition. In February, Lee's support dropped, with Barbara Lee leading Loren Taylor 46% -25% in the initial survey. The current March poll shows that Taylor gained 16 points moving from 25% of first choice votes in February to 41% of first choice votes in this week's survey. According to Brannon Miller from Blueprint Polling, "The election has tightened dramatically, with Barbara Lee at 45% and Loren Taylor at 41% in first choice votes, which puts this race just within the margin of error. 5% of voters said they are voting for Someone Else and 9% of voters said they are Undecided. For all practical purposes, this is a tied race-a big change from just 4 weeks ago. This is also now definitively a two-person race, as no other candidate registers support with voters besides Lee and Taylor." "Following the KTVU debate, Barbara Lee has struggled to make her case to the Oakland residents. Viewers heard two very different perspectives. They will decide whether Washington D.C. budget allocations and insider politics or my local government experience and pragmatic approach with specific plans to move Oakland forward are what Oakland needs now. The latest poll shows that voters are looking for a mayor who can keep Oakland out of bankruptcy and root out corruption. My campaign's message that I am best-positioned to make hard choices centering Oaklanders is resonating with voters," said Loren Taylor. This survey reveals key trends that boosted Taylor's name recognition and helped close the gap with Lee. Concerns over Oakland teetering on the edge of bankruptcy due to deficit Corruption and mismanagement inside of City Hall The need for tangible improvements-such as 911 response, affordable housing, and cleaner streets

British MP: ‘Trump could be a Russian asset’ - ATLNews

Earlier this week, British lawmaker Graham Stuart raised the possibility that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, had been groomed by the Kremlin’s security services over a period of decades. In a post on X, he said: “We have to consider the possibility that President Trump is a Russian asset. If so, Trump’s acquisition is the crowning achievement of Putin’s FSB career, and Europe is on its own.” Stuart’s post comes amid seismic geopolitical shifts, as the Trump administration courts Russia, freezes military aid for Ukraine, and sidelines Europe as it attempts to end Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. Speaking exclusively to the Kyiv Independent, Stuart explains what prompted him to make such an extraordinary public statement, and what it means both for the future of Ukraine, and the continent as a whole. 29th Annual Sisters’ Awards Luncheon In L.A. Honors Trailblazing Women - ATLNews

The Los Angeles chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC-LA) hosted an unforgettable afternoon of celebration and purpose at the 29th Annual Sisters’ Awards Luncheon on Sunday at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. This sold-out event, themed Roots, Resilience, and Radiance, honored extraordinary women whose leadership, perseverance, and innovation continue to shape industries and uplift communities. The event raised critical scholarship funds for young women from the Los Angeles area attending Spelman, ensuring that the next generation of leaders has the resources to thrive. A portion of the proceeds will also provide direct assistance to Spelman community members impacted by the recent Los Angeles-area wildfires. Thanks to the generosity of supporters and attendees, the luncheon successfully raised more than $145,000 for these vital initiatives. Actress and producer Vanessa Bell Calloway brought her signature warmth and grace to her role as event host Vanessa kicked off her remarks by sharing her longtime admiration for Spelman College and what she jokingly called her ongoing case of “Spelman Envy.” “I thought after writing checks for eight years straight, I’d finally be cured,” she quipped. “But watching my daughters thrive only made my ‘Spelman Envy’ worse! So when they asked me to host today, I said yes without hesitation—because this is about celebrating roots, resilience, and radiance, and ensuring that more young women have the opportunity to carry this legacy forward.” Rosalind “Roz” Brewer (C’84), Interim President of Spelman College and former CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance, was recognized as the Legacy Leader for her trailblazing leadership in business, diversity, and corporate innovation, as well as her steadfast leadership at Spelman College and stepping into the role of Interim President to ensure the continuation of the institution’s legacy of excellence. Introduced by TV host, author, philanthropist and media executive, Shaun Robinson (C ‘84), Brewer spoke passionately about her commitment to leadership and the Spelman community. “Leadership isn’t about the titles we hold; it’s about the impact we make and the paths we pave for those who follow. At Spelman, we cultivate not just scholars, but trailblazers who confront challenges head-on and transform them into opportunities,” she shared. “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition and want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Spelman alumnae, faculty, and students who inspire me every day. Thank you to NAASC-LA for your unwavering commitment to supporting our students and ensuring the legacy of excellence continues." The event also honored Judge Mablean Ephriam, best known for her time on Divorce Court, as the Resilient Justice Advocate, recognizing her decades of work in mentorship, family advocacy, and judicial reform. "I stand here today as a testament to resilience—proof that when we refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer, when we push forward despite obstacles, we can break down doors that were never meant to open for us,” said Judge Mablean in her acceptance speech. “My journey in law was not given to me; I fought for it, I demanded my seat at the table, and I encourage every young woman in this room to do the same. Stand firm, speak boldly, and never be afraid to claim what is rightfully yours." Dr. Carliss McGhee, a dedicated educator and the founder of the Khocolate Keepsakes Children’s Literacy Museum, received the Rooted Educator award for her lifelong commitment to literacy and empowerment. Rising actress and producer Ashley Jackson (C '20), daughter of Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Dr. Karin Stanford, was celebrated as the Radiant Rising Star, recognized for her emerging excellence in entertainment and social justice advocacy. As the honorees reflected on their achievements, the afternoon reached another emotional high point with a breathtaking, unplugged performance by Goapele, courtesy of Amazon Music. The acclaimed Oakland-born singer-songwriter delivered a soulful tribute to the late Roberta Flack and Roy Ayers, seamlessly weaving their timeless classics into her own signature hits, including “Closer.” Her stripped-down, acoustic set created an intimate and electrifying moment. The room was filled with numerous esteemed figures across entertainment, business, and media, all coming together in celebration of the Spelman legacy. Among the notable attendees were legendary TV and film executive Suzanne de Passe, acclaimed actor and industry mentor Richard Lawson, Amazon Music’s Phylicia Fant (C’2000), Amazon creative executive Traci Blackwell (C’ 91), director and producer D’Angela Procter (C ‘91), Ms. Black California USA, Ke'Andra Levingston (C’ 2014), HBCUs in LA/EICOP founder Stacy Milner, and many more. Their presence underscores the deep respect and admiration for Spelman women and the impact they continue to make on the world. .

THIS IS THE OAKLAND KTVU MAYORAL DEBATE SITUATION ROOM ON THE THREAT TO DEMOCRACY IN OAKLAND - ATLNews

THIS IS THE OAKLAND KTVU MAYORAL DEBATE SITUATION ROOM ON THE THREAT TO DEMOCRACY IN OAKLAND. This first of its kind meeting livestream starts Tuesday March 11th at 5 PM PST - 8 PM EST. On today, Tuesday March 11th, KTVU is holding an Oakland Mayoral Debate featuring just two of the 10 candidates running in the April 15th 2025 Oakland Mayoral Special Election. Former Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Former Oakland City Councilmember Loren Taylor are the two, and their donor organizations commanding a combined $600,000 have tabbed KTVU to produce the event. KTVU has not invited any other candidate. That caused the creation of this "OAKLAND KTVU MAYORAL DEBATE SITUATION ROOM ON THE THREAT TO DEMOCRACY IN OAKLAND". Money has guided this campaign more than any other and crowded out the voices of 2025 Oakland Mayoral Candidates Cristina Grappo, Tyron Jordan, Peter Liu, Mindy Pechenuk, Suz Robinson, Eric Simpson, Elizabeth Swaney, and Renia Webb. The purpose of this event is to introduce the candidates and also present the case stating why this KTVU event has the appearance of corruption. The first reason is the organizations behind the KTVU Debate: Black Action Alliance and Empower Oakland. The Black Action Alliance is reportedly funded by a man named Philip Dreyfuss, who is not black. Empower Oakland is an advocacy group started by Loren Taylor, who is also an Oakland Mayoral Candidate. So, Loren is, in effect, producing his own promotional event, much like Logan Paul would stage his own boxing match against Mike Tyson. But that's sports and entertainment; this is about who runs Oakland. There are a great many people upset with this. You will meet many of the Oakland Mayoral Candidates and hear them state their case for the importance of maintaining an accessible democracy and what that looks like to them. We also welcome all Oaklanders to join us for this much needed event. Remember: EXTREMISM IN DEFENSE OF OAKLAND IS NO VICE!
