Derrick Soo Oakland Mayoral Write-In Candidate's Homeless Shelter Burned Down By Known Criminal Very sad Columbus Day for famed Oakland Mayoral Write-In Candidate Derrick Soo. Soo, who's also a Zennie62Media Vlogger, was making a video when a man Derrick says is named "Sheed" and is called "Gunnar" because he uses and has guns, went to burn down his own home and with his girlfriend in it. Derrick Soo lives just 10 feet away from Sheed, who's on the loose after the criminal act. Gunner Sheed is an Oakland homeless criminal known to the homeless community. Derrick Soo says the Oakland City Council does nothing at all and neither does the Oakland Police. Derrick said "Watched him walk up with a one-gallon of gasoline and burn down his own shelter, a Mercedes that he stole, and his girlfriend was staying there without his permission and she was using it to shoot up crystal meth. Soo says that Sheed elected to burn down his place with her in it just to get her out of there (totally nuts). Derrick Soo lived 10 feet away from them. Derrick says "Everyone in the camp saw it. And Gunner Sheed said to Soo, 'Better get a fire extinguisher.' That means Sheed did not care who he hurt in his actions. Derrick Soo managed to rescue his dog. His skin is blistering. Fire department got there in less than 10 minutes. Gunner Sheed 5-8, black, dark, medium beard, mustache, short-croppped hair, no-glasses, looks about 30 years old. Has gun shot wound on upper-left-arm bicep. Visible when he has short sleeves or a tank top. Oblong-shaped face. At Oakland Mayoral Forum Sheng Thao Touts EIFD Program I Told Her About In “Secret” Meeting At last night’s Oakland Mayoral Forum in Chinatown, Oakland District Four Councilmember Sheng Thao, in answering a question regarding affordable housing, told the audience she would use Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District legislation or EIFD to fund the construction of affordable housing. The trouble is, Sheng didn’t spell out what “EIFD” stands for, and that’s because she doesn’t know the program. She got the idea to use it from watching my vlogs, then asked for a ZOOM meeting with me on February 2, 2022, and we had that 30 minute meeting - only she said she didn’t want anyone to know about it. Moreover, Sheng wanted free information from me, but then TOLD me she was going to hire another firm for EIFD and tax increment financing- the real tool she failed to mention. So she had zero problem using me, and saying she was planning to pay a white consultant. (News flash folks: a person can be a news commenter and a consultant on that subject. It happens all the time on CNN, so don’t give me this garbage, OK?). And again because she doesn’t know the legislation or the math Sheng forgets what EIFD is or that tax increment financing is the real tool. Glad she’s mentioning it, but her way is disingenuous to the last. Stay tuned.

OAKLAND, Calif. – Blue Shield of California today launched a public campaign asking Californians to speak up and make their voices heard by telling the state to undo its failed process for choosing health plans to serve Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The state’s preliminary decision intends to award contracts to national, for-profit companies that are beholden to Wall Street and lack engagement with local communities. The decision puts access to quality care at risk for the millions of Californians who depend on Medi-Cal. Blue Shield of California has appealed the state’s decision, which did not include any California-based nonprofit health plans. The state also failed to provide meaningful opportunities for the voices of the state’s Medi-Cal beneficiaries, physicians, and organizations that serve local communities to be heard in the process. The public campaign includes statewide digital advertising that underscores the consequences for Medi-Cal beneficiaries if the decision is not reversed. It also includes a website, StandUpForHealthcare.com, that provides information about the decision and how all Californians can respond and help their fellow residents. In an “Open Letter to Californians,” Blue Shield of California President and CEO Paul Markovich noted this year’s historic Medi-Cal procurement was an opportunity to address the shortcomings and inequities in the old system and create one that is innovative and advances health equity. “But that didn’t happen,” he wrote. “It was a breach of trust with the very communities whose health and lives depend on Medi-Cal. Californians deserve better.” Blue Shield encourages Californians to learn about this important and urgent issue, and to insist that the state revisit the process and make choices that meet people’s needs and the state’s goals.
