And it was a fun affair with food, drinks and stars and products and execs like Sir Howard Stringer. Now, it's just a car. Sony has shrank. Sony PlayStation laid off 900 workers in 2024, and Sony's Game & Network Services, the division that is essentially PlayStation, had 12,100 employees as of March 31, 2025, down from 12,700. I can go on and on, but Sony is sadly shrinking and that's bad for CES Las Vegas and American society. Sir Howard Stringer called it in 2015. He said that "My Sony bosses thought I could wake up an analog dinosaur,” said Stringer, referencing the company’s displacement by Apple from its once dominant position in personal electronics. “It was clearly a bridge too far.” “Steve Jobs … saw the advantage of an open platform,” he observed, while Sony clung to a “not invented here” mentality that Stringer said suited the analog world but not the digital one.

Now Ginale Harris is someone I have supported and tried to get on the show to tell her story about the bad behavior of the Oakland Police Commission against her. Then, this year, on Facebook, she says "Happy Birthday" to me and I thank her. OK? There were other friendly exchanges from years past but the point is, I never expected her to just be mean and lie about me. But that's what she did. Recently, she wrote "He is the only council member to tell the truth. You have alot of friends that lie through their teeth! That's is interesting. You are friends with folks that contribute to hurting our kids and tearing down our city. Why is that?" My response: "Ginale, you're way out of line. First, you tell the LIE that I did not come to your defense, when I did and also sent you a Dm inviting you to come on my show and TELL YOUR STORY! What the hell is going on with you and this behavior? Please stop. I have too many examples posted on the Internet that prove you wrong. Maybe holiday blues getting to you? Well, I'm sorry. But don't do wrong things because of them. Believe in the Lord." Whatever is up with her, I believe she needs to take a time out. I do not understand this thing some folks do where they have to use social media to attack your view as a pundit, rather than call as a friend does, and talk? Wild. What do you think? Buffy Filippell TeamWork Online Founder & Sports Employment Pioneer Celebrated By Andy Dolich If you have ever wondered who started sports employment online, you need to meet Buffy Filippell. Buffy Filippell created TeamWork Online, a first-of-its-kind, web-based talent recruiting system focused on connecting candidates and employers in sports and live events. In 2016, TeamWork Online celebrated the remarkable achievement of 100,000th successful candidate and employers’ matches. She was the first female agent at IMG, and, was one of the first recruiters to focus on sports while at the worldwide search firm Korn/Ferry. These firsts have created a legacy that reaches across nearly every professional sport, multiple collegiate programs and the leading live event producers in the world. But I had the pleasure of getting Buffy Filippell's help very early on and way before 2016. She was always available on AOL (those were the days) and was more than sensitive to the problems faced by this person of color. Always encouraging. Always positive. If it can be said that relationships are the best currency, then Buffy Filippell is the best example of why that is true. She's managed to gain the praises of many sports executives, one of them my friend, legendary sports executive Andy Dolich, who Mr. Dolich was COO of the San Francisco 49ers. Dolich played a major role in the team’s improvements at Candlestick Park and the planning of a new state-of-the-art stadium in the Silicon Valley. Prior to joining the 49ers, Dolich served as President of Business Operations for the Memphis Grizzlies and played a major role in planning and building the FedExForum. Mr. Dolich led the marketing and business resurgence of the Oakland Athletics in the 1980’s and early 90’s. In three of his fourteen years with the A’s, he served as the Executive Vice President of the team. And Mr. Dolich also served as President of the Golden State Warriors in the mid-1990’s.
