Buffy Filippell TeamWork Online Founder & Sports Employment Pioneer Celebrated By Andy Dolich If you have ever wondered who started sports employment online, you need to meet Buffy Filippell. Buffy Filippell created TeamWork Online, a first-of-its-kind, web-based talent recruiting system focused on connecting candidates and employers in sports and live events. In 2016, TeamWork Online celebrated the remarkable achievement of 100,000th successful candidate and employers’ matches. She was the first female agent at IMG, and, was one of the first recruiters to focus on sports while at the worldwide search firm Korn/Ferry. These firsts have created a legacy that reaches across nearly every professional sport, multiple collegiate programs and the leading live event producers in the world. But I had the pleasure of getting Buffy Filippell's help very early on and way before 2016. She was always available on AOL (those were the days) and was more than sensitive to the problems faced by this person of color. Always encouraging. Always positive. If it can be said that relationships are the best currency, then Buffy Filippell is the best example of why that is true. She's managed to gain the praises of many sports executives, one of them my friend, legendary sports executive Andy Dolich, who Mr. Dolich was COO of the San Francisco 49ers. Dolich played a major role in the team’s improvements at Candlestick Park and the planning of a new state-of-the-art stadium in the Silicon Valley. Prior to joining the 49ers, Dolich served as President of Business Operations for the Memphis Grizzlies and played a major role in planning and building the FedExForum. Mr. Dolich led the marketing and business resurgence of the Oakland Athletics in the 1980’s and early 90’s. In three of his fourteen years with the A’s, he served as the Executive Vice President of the team. And Mr. Dolich also served as President of the Golden State Warriors in the mid-1990’s. Fayette County GA State Judge Jason B. Thompson Gets Fayette County DUI Drug Court Grant Fayette County’s DUI/Drug Court and Veterans Treatment Court that was started by Judge Jason B. Thompson in 2016, recently announced the programs have received a $35,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. According to officials, grant funds will be utilized to implement a comprehensive monthly drug testing program, support recovery, and reduce recidivism in our community. The program will integrate testing results into individualized recovery plans, offering referrals for additional counseling, treatment, and other necessary support services. By promoting accountability, identifying challenges early, and encouraging positive behavior, the initiative reportedly aims to support recovery and reduce new substance-related offenses, ultimately fostering a safer and healthier community. "Part of the GOHS mission is to assist in the implementation of programs and campaigns designed to prevent crashes and eliminate traffic deaths on our roads," GOHS Director Allen Poole said. "GOHS will continue to develop new partnerships and continue existing ones in order to create, refine, and implement safety programs designed to help our state and nation reach our goal of zero traffic deaths." Fayette County Accountability Court has been at the forefront of supporting individuals in their recovery journey through specialized accountability court programs. The programs offer structured support and monitoring for individuals involved in the criminal justice system who are seeking to overcome substance abuse challenges. The local DUI/Drug Court was started on Jan. 1, 2016, by State Court Judge Jason B. Thompson. Now in its ninth year, Judge Thompson stated, “DUI/Drug Courts save lives, families, jobs, and dollars.” Since 2016, FCAC has graduated 96 individuals. There are 23 participants currently enrolled. To date, it reportedly has saved taxpayers more than a half million dollars. “Recovery is possible. Our programs are dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their lives, build resilience, and achieve lasting success,” Fayette Accountability Court Coordinator Jourdan Crawford said. “We are committed to demonstrating the transformative power of recovery and ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.” GOHS’s mission is to educate safe driving behaviors and implement highway safety campaigns designed to reduce crashes and eliminate fatalities and injuries. 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up? Ken Houston Oakland CM Uses Tax Dollars To Make Meme Of Oakland Vlogger Zennie Abraham AKA Zennie62 Wow, Well, folks, looks like my friend, stll newish Oakland District 7 Councilmember Ken Houston, has enough time on his hands to make a cool meme of, of all people, me Oakland Vlogger and Blogger Zennie Abraham, aa Zennie62. Yep. I got Councilmember Houston's early morning Facebook message with the photo of a salamander next to my face. It came at 6:28 AM EST, which is 3:28 AM PST, Oakland time. The meme asks "Who's the real Slimy Salamander?" Well, if Slimy Salamander means I am getting under the skin of a Councilember I consider a friend, then the answer must certainly be me. Right? My question is where does Oakland District 7 Councilmember Ken Houston find the time to make such art work and on the Oakland taxpayers dime? I am flattered that it's more important to Ken that a meme of me be made than answering some constituent's email or returning their phone call. I am also concerned that Ken's priorities are in the wrong place. Ken has a responsibility to the taxpayers who pay him to reduce crime, build Oakland's Economy, and keep Oakland Government running. They could care less about how he feels about an Oakland Blogger. Unless of course I managed to uninupset Ken with some post I released. Not my intent, but the matter of Batman at City Council blasting Ken's homeless encampment policy was important enough to me to make a vlog about. Some folks do not like Ken's push to , well, harass the homeless. Ken should welcome debate on this important matter, not make photos of Oakland vloggers because he doesn't like the news. That said, I have to admit I like the photo. Thanks, Councilmember. Now, the next task is to re-focus on the needs of unhoused Oaklanders. And we have to get Councilmember Houston a thicker skin in the process. Still, I also think Ken's photo was PR gold, especially for me. I asked Google A.I. the following question: "What it means when politicians make silly photos of press people?" His name was Elijah McCoy, and he invented the foundation of modern robotics in 1872, decades before anyone even used the word robot. He created the first machine that could think for itself, the first device that could self-regulate and maintain its own operation without stopping. And when companies tried to copy his invention with cheap knock-offs, engineers would demand "the real McCoy," a phrase that became part of our language while the man behind it disappeared from history books. So how did a Black engineer born to escaped slaves become the father of automation? How did his invention lead directly to the robots assembling cars, performing surgeries, and exploring Mars today? And why don't you know his name when you definitely know Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla? Elijah McCoy was born on May 2nd, 1844 in Colchester, Ontario, Canada. His parents, George and Mildred McCoy, were formerly enslaved people who had escaped from Kentucky through the Underground Railroad, that secret network of safe houses that helped thousands flee bondage. George McCoy had enlisted in the British Army and was rewarded with 160 acres of farmland in Colchester after his service. This was where Elijah was born, in a small farming community where Black families who had escaped slavery tried to build new lives. But even in Canada, freedom didn't mean equality. Black families faced racism that made education and opportunities scarce. Yet from a very young age, Elijah showed a gift that nobody could ignore: he understood how machines worked. He would take apart tools and equipment on the family farm, study the pieces, and put them back together better than before. His parents recognized this talent, and they made a decision that would change everything. When Elijah was just 15 years old, his parents scraped together their savings and sent him across the ocean to Edinburgh, Scotland to study mechanical engineering. Think about what that meant for a second. A formerly enslaved Black family in the mid-1800s, sending their teenage son to study at one of the most advanced engineering schools in the world. This was an extraordinary sacrifice that most families of any color couldn't make.

Trump Layer Alina Habba Barred From Serving As Acting US Attorney For New Jersey According To Law 360, Alina Habba, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer cannot serve as acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey, the Third Circuit ruled Monday in a precedential opinion holding that her appointment violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act and undermined the constitutional safeguards of Senate confirmation. A three-judge circuit panel affirmed a district court order disqualifying Alina Habba from overseeing prosecutions, including cases against Julien Giraud Jr., Julien Giraud III and real estate influencer Cesar "Flipping NJ" Pina. Although the court disqualified Habba, it declined to dismiss the indictments in the cases. The appellate opinion marks the latest news in the controversy swirling around Alina Habba's tenure as the top federal prosecutor in the Garden State. Ms. Habba was originally named interim U.S. attorney by Trump in March, but was never confirmed by the Senate. Her formal nomination was withdrawn following opposition from New Jersey's two Democratic senators. When the 120-day clock wound down on Alina Habba's interim appointment, Chief U.S. District Judge Renée Marie Bumb then appointed First Assistant U.S. Attorney Desiree Grace to the role, but Attorney General Pam Bondi fired Grace and replaced her with Habba, first in the role of special attorney and then as first assistant U.S. attorney, taking over the tasks of U.S. attorney for the state. U.S. Circuit Judge D. Michael Fisher, writing for the panel, emphasized that only the first assistant in place at the time of a vacancy may automatically assume acting duties under the FVRA. The court rejected the Justice Department's argument that Habba could be retroactively designated as first assistant and thereby qualify for automatic elevation. "Habba is not the acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey by virtue of her appointment as first assistant U.S. attorney because only the first assistant in place at the time the vacancy arises automatically assumes the functions and duties of the office under the FVRA," Judge Fisher wrote. Judges L. Felipe Restrepo, D. Brooks Smith and D. Michael Fisher sat on the Third Circuit panel. Julien Giraud Jr. is represented by Thomas S. Mirigliano of the Law Office of Thomas S.
