A group of individuals (some who live in Oakland, others not) have established an event that has drawn 5,900 signups on Its Facebook Page. It's called "Hands Across Lake Merritt Oakland Donald Trump Protest and its today at 3 PM. The idea is to have a peaceful anti-Donald Trump President-Elect protest. Come to the Columns at El Embarcadero between Grand Avenue and Lakeshore Avenue - get there at 2:15 PM for good measure. The rate of legal immigrants has climbed from 4.7 percent in 1970 to 13.5 percent in 2015. If you add kids of immigrants then 26 percent of Americans are either legal immigrants or children of them. That means more people who know soccer and cricket than NFL Football. The NFL has to change the way it markets games to America.
