NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Says Las Vegas NFL Study Hasn't Been Done

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Says Las Vegas NFL Study Hasn't Been Done
Echoing the words of New York Giants Owner John Mara, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that Las Vegas has not been studied by the NFL to even know if it's a good place for pro football. "It's all speculation," Goodell said. Thus we see the emergence of a party line where the NFL says that it hasn't even studied the Las Vegas market, so there is no reason for Mark Davis to go ahead and try to get a stadium deal done.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Addresses Oakland Good Faith Dealing Problem With Raiders

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Addresses Oakland Good Faith Dealing Problem With Raiders
At today's press conference and after the awarding of Super Bowls 53, 54, and 55 to Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was kind enough to address my question regarding concerns that a number of Oakland officials had with a number of actions by the Raiders and their principal Owner Mark Davis. I will name a number of them in another vlog, but two major examples involve Davis telling City of Oakland and Alameda County Officials that the team would not meet with them until after the Houston NFL meeting and the matter of team in LA, and even then not until the Coliseum lease was signed, which was April 27th - meanwhile during that period Davis goes off and, unknown to Oakland officials, meets with Las Vegas officials. The other example was last year. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf had no idea the Raiders were negotiating with Carson and part of a team to build a new stadium there. Schaaf heard it from me, and even then did not believe it until it became common knowledge via the local media. But the bottom line is the Raiders should have informed Mayor Schaaf and not caused her or city staff to be blindsided. Commissioner Goodell said that the NFL had been transparent, (I agree) but also that both the City of Oakland and the Raiders shared blame in this large communications problem. Goodell said that he's in contact with Mayor Schaaf regularly (including 10 PM last night) and that she is aware that they have to "do something" - in other words present a plan. The problem is she and the NFL have a person in the face of the Raiders Owner, who seems to not want to really work transparently with Oakland officials to get something done. Stay tuned.

Miami Super Bowl Bid Committee Erupts After 2020 Win #SuperBowl
The Miami Super Bowl Bid Committee was kind enough to allow this Vlogger to be in the room when they won the bid to host the 2020 Super Bowl. It was a tense passing of time leading to this moment, as they watched Atlanta win the 2019 Super Bowl Bid vote. Then it came down to Miami / South Florida versus Tampa. After a string of losses including the right to host the 50th Super Bowl, Miami finally won one. Much deserved!

John Mara, NY Giants Owner, Says Las Vegas NFL Study Hasn't Been Done
At The NFL Spring League Meeting New York Giants Owner John Mara just told me that he is open to listening to presentations on the idea of a team in Las Vegas but there are a lot of unanswered questions. "We don't know what the market there can handle. We don't know the situation with the casinos and gambling. We don't know the funding situation. We don't know the demographics. There is a lot we don't know," Mara said. This puts a more detailed explanation on the quotes that league owners say they support an NFL team in Las Vegas. The fact is that the idea has gone largely unstudied. Stay tuned.
