Las Vegas Nevada Low Wages Can't Host Oakland Raiders NFL Stadium - More Proof

Las Vegas Nevada Low Wages Can't Host Oakland Raiders NFL Stadium - More Proof
Las Vegas Nevada Low Wages Can't Host Oakland Raiders NFL Stadium - More Proof The fact that Las Vegas, Nevada has wage levels so low that it can't support an NFL team like the Oakland Raiders is a hard pill for some to swallow. So, instead of just accepting the truth and asking what Las Vegas has to do to get to an economic level where it's ready for an NFL expansion franchise, some resort to desperately digging up what they think is data that refutes what's in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or BLS. BLS data is commonly used by urban market analysts to determine the economic heath of a metropolitan area. I used BLS data and in my first post on this described in detail how you can find the same information. But one viewer, in an attempt to disprove my findings, just saw an online page on the website SalaryExpert.com that read this: “The average salary in Las Vegas, Nevada is $58,165” - but the viewer failed to note the title of the page, which is “Average Salary for Popular Jobs in Las Vegas, Nevada”. Note the words “popular jobs in Las Vegas.” By contrast, the BLS data from “Occupational Employment and Wages in Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise — May 2015” shows not only that the mean hourly wage for Las Vegas is $20.23, but that it's a full 13 percent below the national mean hourly wage of $23.23. Las Vegas wages are below the national average. Got that? But then even going back to the page from SalaryExpert.com revealed more bad news for those trying to make a case for Las Vegas' ability to support the Oakland Raiders or any NFL team. The “popular jobs in Las Vegas” are Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Licensed Practical, Occupational Therapist, Office Manager, Phlebotomist, Physical Therapy Technician, Registered Nurse, Substance Abuse Counsel. None of those jobs are in manufacturing or technology or law. And since SalaryExpert.com tends to focus on standard service jobs, let's discount that, but note that none of the positions are in areas that require a high level degree, like the level of training that a doctor receives so they can do surgery. In San Francisco, according to SalaryExpert.com, being a Dentist is one of the most popular jobs (the site doesn't breakout Oakland but it's so close to SF it might as well be part of the picture). The Dentist salary is $221,349 in San Francisco, and the average salary for the popular jobs listed is $68,780 – still a full $10,000 higher than in Las Vegas. Something else, too: SalaryExpert.com doesn't tell you what jobs are available versus the total number of available positions, only what the earnings potential is. So we turn back to the BLS data. We find that the US Average of 26.3 percent of all jobs held are in just two categories: Sales and Office and Administrative Support. For Las Vegas, that's over the national average and up to 27.1 percent. But for Oakland that's below the national average at 25.2 percent. Oakland has almost double the number of Production jobs as in Las Vegas, at 5.4 percent versus 2.8 percent. In other words, Oakland reflects more higher wage workers in higher wage occupations as a percentage than Las Vegas. Stay tuned.

Adam Saleh YouTube Star Kicked Off Delta Airlines For Speaking Arabic

Adam Saleh YouTube Star Kicked Off Delta Airlines For Speaking Arabic
Adam Saleh YouTube Star Kicked Off Delta Airlines For Speaking Arabic Adam Saleh YouTube Star Kicked Off Delta Airlines For Speaking Arabic Adam Saleh, a YouTube Star with a channel bearing his name, was kicked off a Delta Airlines flight and only for speaking arabic. What was worse, is the same Delta Airlines that allowed a white guy to refer to women on a flight out of Atlanta to Allentown as the “b-word”, removed a set of passengers just for speaking in their mother tongue, which happens to be arabic. Adam Saleh made a video-blog just as he was getting off the plane. You can see some of the people in the background waving for him to get off the aircraft – all white. Delta Airlines, in a statement, reported that 20 people spoke up, saying they were not comfortable with Adam Saleh speaking arabic. The Delta Statement: “Maintaining a safe, comfortable and orderly onboard environment is paramount for every flight and requires the cooperation of all of our customers in conjunction with adherence to directions from our crew members. This is a Delta policy and is required by U.S. regulations as well as others governing aviation worldwide. “Two customers were removed from Delta flight 1 departing London-Heathrow today after a disturbance in the cabin resulted in more than 20 customers expressing their discomfort. “We have spoken with the customers who were removed; they were rebooked on another flight. Plans are in place to immediately speak with our crew and other passengers when the flight lands this afternoon. We will provide an update once we have more information.” Completely wild development on Delta Airlines, which seems to have racked up a recent history of complaints by people of color for a combination of events that add up to allegations of racism. Rapper Azealia Banks had choice words for the airline after being struck by a French passenger. The real story, not reported by publications like TMZ, was that she was being bullied by a passenger, who, inexplicably, would not let her get off the plane. Delta did not defend her as a woman being assaulted by a man. In another example, a Delta Airlines Flight Attendant rejected an offer for help by a doctor because the worker did not believe the black woman was a medical specialist. In another instance, Darlene Hider, a Muslim woman traveling with her family on Delta, was dealing with a sick child when a white women complained about them to an attendant. Rather than moving the white woman, Delta moved the Muslim family. Delta is fast becoming the airline associated with modern racism. It had better make changes, and fast, before it looses passengers due to this developing reputation. On the matter of fear of Muslims by some, the actions that seem to be causing this around the World, this blogger believes, may be financed by right-wing interests. The end result? To put them in power. Stay tuned.

Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium Market Study Done By CSL, Has History Of Overinflated Reports

Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium Market Study Done By CSL, Has History Of Overinflated Reports
Oakland Raiders Las Vegas NFL Stadium Market Study Done By CSL, With History Of Overinflated Reports According to reports, the Oakland Raiders and its President Marc Badain hired Convention, Sports, and Leisure, a Plano, Texas-based firm with a history of producing what many claim are overinflated reports, to produce a market study of Las Vegas for its NFL Stadium plan. This news would explain how the Oakland Raiders could reportedly claim that the NFL Las Vegas Study was something that Badain denounced with what one reporter said was a compound cuss word. But the truth is, the same word could apply to what CSL did for the Raiders with respect to Las Vegas. According to a stinging report by the San Diego Union Tribune in 2010, Convention, Sports, and Leisure justified Petco Park, the baseball stadium built downtown for the San Diego Padres, as being a net advantage and requiring a public subsidy because without the public money, nothing would have been built where it sits. Given that the site is smack in the middle of what's now called The Gaslamp District, and next to the San Diego Marina, such a claim is, at best, baseless. The same 2010 San Diego Union Tribune article goes on to report that “In San Jose, an analysis by the San Jose Mercury News showed CSL’s study didn’t take into account costs of at least $42 million for the city to buy up the land for the A’s ballpark.” The problem with Convention, Sports, and Leisure's approach is that it doesn't actually build computer models to evaluate the ability of a local economy to actually absorb a project like a sports stadium. That's why the Raiders can't tell you what the number for season ticket purchase rate is in Las Vegas versus Oakland. If there were any real demand for tickets for Raiders games by locals, you would have known about it by now. You don't, because there is not a big number to report, if they have one at all. This blogger's background is in urban planning with a specialization in urban economics. In 1988 to 1991, Zennie Abraham and Associates produced tax increment revenue forecasts for the City of Oakland and City of Emeryville and built a giant spreadsheet called “The Area Redevelopment Economic Model” which could be used for any California-based redevelopment project. In 2003, Sports Business Simulations, where I am CEO, was launched around a business simulation of the Oakland Athletics built using a specialized programming language based on system dynamics. The Oakland Baseball Simworld was used in 40 colleges and high schools nationwide. It was even used by Oakland Raiders interns who were students at the University of San Francisco's Sport Management Program.
