Who dropped out and why should be listed. That should be a requirement to show by ordinance. Otherwise it looks like a fix may have been in. We need to protect the City's reputation by showing the total line of information.

Oakland City Council District 3 Race 2016 - Record Number Fail To Qualify Out of seven Oakland City Council District Three Race candidates - Lynette Gibson McElhaney, Saied Kamarooz, Alan Brown, Roybn Hodges, Tyron Jordan, Anthony McNeal, and Noni Session- only two have "qualified" for the November election, according to the Oakland City Clerk. That leaves a record number of people who have dropped from the race in District Three. The problem is the City of Oakland website does not reflect this and the City Clerk does not have the authority to go into her page on the website and make the changes needed, which calls for installing a link code to the updated information. But Oaklanders should also know why candidates were dropped - that should be on the Oakland site, too. Stay tuned.

In my history, this is the largest number of people ever to run for the District Three Seat. Saied Kamarooz ran for Mayor of Oakland in 2014 in the race that produced Libby Schaaf as the current leader of our city. He is joined by Alan Brown, Roybn Hodges, Tyron Jordan, Anthony McNeal, and Noni Session In 2012 Lynette was one of six candidates in a race where Oakland activist and now bar owner Sean Sullivan was the front runner in polls, but lost as votes were exchanged between black candidates, leaving Sullivan out in the cold. This tine Lynette, the Council President, is the front runner. Stay tuned.
