New Las Vegas Sands NFL Oakland Raiders Stadium Site Clogs Airport Roadways

New Las Vegas Sands NFL Oakland Raiders Stadium Site Clogs Airport Roadways
New Las Vegas Sands NFL Oakland Raiders Stadium Site Clogs Airport Roadways The Las Vegas Sands Corporation announced, via the Las Vegas Review, which is owned by Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson, that it's found a potential new site for its proposed new NFL Stadium for the Oakland Raiders in Las Vegas. It's located at something that's now called The Wild West Gambling Hall and Truck Stop, which is at 3330 West Tropicana Avenue. What's interesting about what's reported to be the 'new front-runner' stadium site, is it's just three blocks away from the original Tropicana site that's so close to the Runway 19 at McCarran International Airport, and the same land parcel that caused Southwest Airlines to send a blistering letter rejecting the idea of a stadium on that site. In the letter, Southwest Airlines' Bob Montgomery wrote of a concern not just for restricting runway use, but “roadway gridlock.” From that perspective, it's hard to see how a new land site for a 65,000 seat to 80,000 seat NFL stadium will do anything to solve Southwest's roadway gridlock concern. While fans of the idea of the Raiders in Las Vegas act as if this is already a done-deal, the new site is just an idea, and Las Vegas Sands has not at all held deal-making talks to buy it. Moreover, what's not known is if Southwest will express comfort with a property that's still so close to McCarran as to certainly cause the same traffic problems feared. A look at a map shows that the basic streets and freeways that lead to McCarran from the Las Vegas Strip would hold more traffic from the operation of an NFL stadium during an event than they do today. It's hard to see Southwest approving of this new alternative. Back to the drawing board.

Dallas Police Officers Shot By Domestic Terrorist Group

Dallas Police Officers Shot By Domestic Terrorist Group
Five Dallas Police Officers were shot by a group of suspected killers. They did this right during a protest of the police killing of black men. I think their actions were intended to destabilize our society. They may even have been paid to do this just to take society's focus away from the police killing of black men. They are not talking but the timing is really suspicious to me. I hope that we get to the bottom of that they did. Somehow.

Protests Of Black Men Killed By Police Have Changed Nothing

Protests Of Black Men Killed By Police Have Changed Nothing
From Oscar Grant and the giant Oakland Riots, to Alton Sterling and Philando Castle, social media has given us a mirror to see what we did not see before: police violence toward black men. But as we have protested in the streets nothing has happened and they keep happening. The protests are just a part of the media and a way to keep viewers entertained. The problem is the folks protesting don't vote. They don't take political jobs and work to change things so we get this. Again. Vote!
